Drive just under 2 hours South from Sydney and you reach Nowra,
the GATEWAY to the Jervis Bay. " The Guesthouse " is located just beside
the Main Bridge in Nowra at the Riverhaven Motel on the banks of the Shoalhaven River.
Nowra is central to all local tourist attractions
you can visit the Jervis bay, Huskisson, Berry, Kiama and Kangaroo Valley all within a 10-30 Min Drive!
Build in the 1920 " M&Ms Guesthouse" or " The Guesthouse " as many people know it now,
used to operate as a real Bed & Breakfast. Over the years we have changed
the usage of the house so Families and Groups can rent the house out as a "Holiday House"
The Guesthouse still has its old features with wood paneling and
high ceilings and sleeps up to 40 persons. It is ideally suited for Children
with a public swimming pool across the road
Toilets
The Guesthouse has older style Shared Facilities, Ladies and Gents
separate.
Ladies 3 showers and 2 toilets. Gents 3 Showers and 3 Toilets + Urinal.
Please Note: the showers are not High Pressure Showers
Bedding
10 single beds and 9 Double beds in 1 double and 8 twin rooms.
There are also 3 bunkrooms (4 single Beds per room) sleeping 12 children / adults in total.
When calculating beds, please note that Children of a young age
are not advised to use the top bunk beds, as there are no safety rails
Strip the beds!
On departure we require you to strip the beds , just take the sheets and pillow cases
of the bed and put in to the corner of the room.
This is done to insure
nothing is left behind such as jewelry or clothing.
Remember:
Children who use a
bed are charged for, those who use a porta cot are free of charge.
We do NOT supply porta cots,
Bedrooms
All Bed Rooms have a wash basin and Wardrobes / Dressing Tables
Linen
Pillows and Blankets and all Linen is provided, your beds are already made up!
Please note: We do not provide Towels!
Kitchen
Large Kitchen makes catering for groups easy, containing
1 Large Double Cooler refrigerator
Large Electric Commercial Stove and Stainless preparation Table and sink.
There is a large assortment of Plates , Bowls and kitchen utensils.
Please Note: No Dishwasher!
Dining Room
Seats 40 people on 4 x 10 seated tables, contains 1 Domestic Fridge / Freezer, Hot Water urn
1x Toaster and 1x large breakfast table, Cutlery enough for 40 people
Lounge
Large Lounge with Cable TV (Austar) and Log Fire
Games Room
Games Room has a Pool Table & Table Tennis
Table Tennis:
Bats, Balls and Net supplied .
PLEASE do not sit on the table!
Pool Table
PLEASE at all times supervise little children with the Pool Table!
You pay for the damage of felt and pool sticks
You need $1 Coins to operate the

BBQ
There is an outside BBQ area on the verandah with a Gas BBQ.
Please CLEAN UP after use
Air-conditioners / Heating
The house has older style reverse cycle Air-conditioners in most bed rooms, except the Bunk rooms.
They are not the best and some do not work, but there are also ceiling fans in every room which do work
There is a new Reverse Cycle Air - Conditioner in the Lounge. The use of the
split system /reverse cycle Air-Conditioner in the lounge is included in the hire cost.
The remote to activate this air-conditioner is available from the
reception, a $50 charge applies if the remote is damaged or lost.
Log Fire
The Log fire is NOT included in the house hire.
If you specifically require the wood fire to be available for your group
you can request this when making your booking.
The cost for the firewood is $20 per night (to cover wood and cleaning) and
is portioned out to last per evening. Extra load of wood $20
How to keep the
House Cool or Warm
The Guesthouse due to its age has no insulation in the walls or Ceiling.
This means that in the summer it can get Hot and in the Winter Cold.
To help keeping the house a bit "Cooler" in Summer "KEEP ALL THE OUTSIDE DOORS CLOSED"
during the day, when the sun is out. Having all the doors open will let the HOT AIR IN!
Also Close the all Bedroom and Games Room curtains.
Turn on the Ceiling Fans in the lounge to spread the Cold Air from the Conditioner
To help keeping the house a bit "Warmer" in Winter, "KEEP ALL THE OUTSIDE DOORS CLOSED"
Having all the doors open will let the HOT AIR from the Log Heater / Air-conditioner OUT!
Also Open all Bedroom and Games Room curtains.
Turn on the Ceiling Fans in the lounge to spread the Hot air.
What to bring
Sharp Knifes, Electric Frying Pan, Salt, Pepper, Rice Cooker, towels, Soap , Shampoo,
Rubbish Bags, Tea Towels, $1 Coins for the Games Room , sugar / coffee,
extra sleeping bag or doona (for when it gets really cold), games for the Kids
What not to bring and not to use
Any kind of non-prescribed Drugs, any sort of Candles, Coal BBQ's, Electric Heaters or Fan Blowers
